Desk Access: Signing In

Sign In is Required
Because the Community Support Desk was created to help individuals with on-on-one support services, we require sign-ins to send ticket requests to our Support Staff. Your signing in ensures a direct line of communication with you so you can get the best help possible in solving your request.

If you don't sign-in, we can't help you. Thankfully, our sign-in methods are all fast and easy.


Sign In Methods
The Community Support Desk supports four different sign in methods. All methods of signing into the CSD are easy, and the choice is yours as to which method is easiest for you. Three of these methods use Social Networking sites to sign-in: Twitter, Facebook, and Google. We also offer direct Support Desk sign-ins, which require a username, password, and a short registration form.


Why Social Network Sign-Ins Ask for Permissions
Using these methods provides our Support Staff with the ability to communicate with you directly via these networks, and allows you a fast and easy way to communicate with us.

Social Network sign-ins are 3rd party plug-ins, also known as Apps, which are asked to be added to your preferred Social Networking account in order to be used. Anytime you use a Social Networking App to sign-in somewhere, it will ask you to approve certain permissions before you can sign-in.

These permissions are generally the very basic permissions necessary to communicate with you. Note that the permissions required by Social Networking sites to use their sign-in methods are decided by them, not us. We have absolutely no control over the required permissions.

If for any reason you do not feel comfortable with the permissions the Apps are asking for, we recommend that you use the direct Community Support registration method.


Direct Community Support Desk Sign-in
To sign in to the CSD directly, simply click the Sign up link on the sign-in page. Here you'll be greeted with a quick registration page. Once you fill out the required information, you are sent a confirmation email.

Note that you must click the link in the verification email in order to activate your CSD account.






Signing In with Twitter
At the time of this writing, the Twitter sign-in method will ask you to approve it's app by singing in. Once you sign in, you'll see this screen, which explains the permissions asked for, and what the app will not allow us to do.




Signing In with Facebook
At the time of this writing, the Facebook sign-in method will ask you to approve it's app by singing in. Once you sign in, you'll see this screen, which explains the permissions asked for and what it is not allowed to do.




Signing In with Google
At the time of this writing, the Google sign-in method will ask you to approve it's app by singing in. Once you sign in, you'll see this screen, which explains the permissions asked for.
