A Reported Player is Still Playing

We know it's difficult for many people to understand why a reported player is still active in the game. The following is just a few short examples and explanations as to why you may experience this.

To have a greater understanding of our entire process in these situations, please read our detailed article on Player Reports, as well as our article about our policies on Warnings and Suspensions.

General Player Reports
We investigate all player reports thoroughly and to the best of our ability. To have a greater understanding of our entire process in these situations, please read our detailed article on Player Reports, as well as our article about our policies on Warnings and Suspensions.

Reported Duplicate Accounts
There are some limitations to the amount of information we can investigate. For example, we can only investigate data that exists inside VDS and any related factual data via tickets on our Support Desk.

With that in mind, please understand that some accounts remain active post-reporting. Some of reasons for this can include any situation where people live in the same household, or are using the same computer, such as couples, families and roommates.

We have always taken proactive measures to investigate and ban duplicate accounts. To date we've banned more than 1200 accounts due to duplicates accounts and automated playing. Rest assured that we will continue to be diligent in investigating all reports.

Reported Cheating/Hacking/Scripting/Automated Playing
Hacking and Automated playing are some of our highest priority investigations. With VDS we gone above and beyond the levels of our social gaming competitors by having implemented very intense security measures. Our game exhibits extremely low percentages of cheating, and we are always actively searching for instances of unfair gameplay. We investigate every report.

While we appreciate the support of the community in keeping VDS cheat-free, there are many cases submitted to us where our investigations reveal data that does not support a player who is reported for this kind of cheating. By now we have accumulated enough data on hacking and automated playing that we know what to look for.

It's common to think that if someone is playing unusually fast that they are cheating. This isn't always the case. Instances like these could be the result of gaming mice, keyboard shortcuts, and the macros built into these current for-gaming hardware. By now these are standard functions of most gaming keyboards, and they are extremely affordable. While we would love to say that we can monitor every single aspect of every player in the game, that is neither reasonable or possible.

We recommend that you continue to report any new instance of players you suspect of cheating.
